Museums About Denmark and the Danes

A number of museums around the greater Copenhagen area are dedicated to the past of the Danes. Some are more interesting than others, in this section we try to mention the most interesting ones.

The Danes of today are in a great many respects not really comparable to their viking ancestors some 1100 years or so ago. Nonetheless, the viking past is the theme of some of the museums that you may want to pay a visit.

Other museums like the National Museum focus on the more recent past of Denmark and the Danes. Notice that some of the past having to do with the life of royalty, wars fought etc., have dedicated exhibitions at some of the castles and palaces, which are mentioned in another section of kopegxagh.dk.
